Day Trip to Bruges & Ghent from Brussels
We will gather at the designated time in central Brussels and set off by bus towards northern Belgium. Before our journey to Bruges and Ghent, we will enjoy a scenic bus tour around Brussels, allowing you to view some of the capital's striking attractions. This panoramic experience will cover the Financial District and the ABC Canal, while passing iconic sites including the Godiva chocolate factory, Princess Elisabeth Park, and the majestic Basilica of the Sacred Heart.
Afterward, we will depart from the capital and head towards the enchanting city of Bruges, often referred to as “The Venice of the North”.
Exploration of Bruges
Upon reaching Bruges, we'll embark on a guided tour to explore prominent sites such as the historic Old Saint John’s Hospital and the stunning Church of Our Lady, known for its remarkable Madonna and Child statue.
In addition to these landmarks, we’ll visit notable attractions including Market Square, the Basilica of the Holy Blood, the Belfry of Bruges, the enchanting Lake of Love, and the historic Begijnhof established in 1245. Other sights encompass Walplein Square, the picturesque Dijver Canal, Tanners Square, Castle Square, and the exquisitely designed Town Hall. This promises to be a comprehensive exploration!
Concluding our guided tour, you will have 1.5 hours of free time to savor a meal, enjoy a boat trip, or unwind with coffee and delightful Belgian chocolate.
Refreshed, we will leave Bruges and proceed to Ghent, celebrated as one of Europe’s most dynamic cities due to its renowned university.
Unveiling Ghent
Upon arrival, we will visit St. Bravo’s Cathedral, famous for housing the iconic “The Adoration of the Mystic Lamb” by the Van Eyck brothers.
Next, we will explore the Belfry of Ghent, Saint Nicholas’ Church, Gravensteen (or the Castle of Gerald the Devil), the intriguing Town Hall, the Masons’ Guild House, and meander through the Patershol district.
After immersing ourselves in Ghent’s culture and beauty, you will have additional free time to appreciate the city at your leisure.
To conclude this culturally rich day, we will return to the heart of Brussels, wrapping up our journey after approximately 10.5 to 11.5 hours together.
Canal Boat Tour in Bruges
If desired, you can opt for a 30-minute boat ride on the canals of Bruges. This excursion departs from the Rosary pier and can be enjoyed during your free time in the city.
Extended Visit to Bruges and Ghent
If you wish to explore further into the charms of both Bruges and Ghent, we suggest extending your stay for a complete day in each city. If this appeals to you, consider booking a day trip to Bruges followed by another day trip to Ghent. It’s an ideal approach to fully experience these two historical treasures!

Meet your guide at the exit “Grand Place” at the Brussels Central Station, in front of the Hilton Hotel, at Carrefour de L’Europe.
Since January 2018, Bruges has had a new norm for all guided tours. Occasionally, our local provider must use a radio with individual headsets. We recommend bringing your own headphones to avoid waste and to help the environment. If you don't have any, the company will offer you some disposable ones for just 1EUR.
For organizational purposes, sometimes you visit Ghent first and then Bruges.

Panoramic Tour
Before heading to Bruges and Ghent, you'll enjoy a panoramic bus tour of Brussels, discovering some of the Belgian capital's most iconic landmarks. You'll take in sights such as Cinquantenaire Park, the Royal Palace and the Royal District, Mont des Arts, the European Quarter, and the Column of Congress.
Starting from August 31, 2026, before heading to Bruges and Ghent, we'll explore Brussels in comfort by bus, taking in some of the Belgian capital's most unique sights. The panoramic tour will take you through the Financial District and past the ABC Canal, before passing the Godiva Chocolate Factory, Princess Elisabeth Park, and the imposing Sacré-Cœur Basilica.
