Rudas Baths Tickets + Lunch or Dinner
Description
By securing a ticket to the Rudas Baths, you will immerse yourself in one of the most celebrated wellness destinations in Budapest, enriched by over 450 years of heritage. Experience its renowned thermal waters, indulge in a panoramic pool with views of the Danube, and relish a delightful 3-course menu at the Rudas Bistro.
Rudas Bath: A Retreat Offering Stunning Views of the Danube
Rudas stands out not only as one of Hungary's most ancient thermal baths but also as a rare example globally that preserves its 16th-century Ottoman ambiance. Established in 1566 by the Pasha of Buda, Sokollu Mustafa, its original structure serves as a historical testament to its elegance.
The centerpiece of this establishment is the octagonal pool, encircled by columns that support an expansive 32-ft (10-m) diameter dome. A defining aspect of this area is the collection of small, stained-glass windows embedded in the dome. As sunlight streams through during daylight hours, it casts colorful beams of light amidst the steam, unfolding a visual journey back to the opulence of the sultanate period.
For centuries, the Rudas baths have been celebrated for their therapeutic benefits. This spa is supplied by three primary springs: Hungária, Attila, and Juventus. The mineral-rich waters contain calcium, magnesium, and bicarbonate, making them particularly effective for alleviating joint discomfort and reducing inflammation.
