Excursion to Estancia Vigil from Buenos Aires
Your adventure begins as we collect you from your hotel in central Buenos Aires, heading towards the outskirts of the city. Our destination is the picturesque Los Cardales region, conveniently situated near Parque Nacional Ciervo de los Pantanos, less than an hour's drive away.
Upon arrival, you’ll discover the Mercado Estancia Vigil, a unique wine market reminiscent of traditional rural shops. The day’s itinerary and culinary experiences will depend on the selection made during your booking:
Options for the Day Trip
When booking, you will have the choice between the following two options:
5-Hour Itinerary
Selecting this option grants you a vibrant experience with a guided tasting tour through the winery’s terraces, vineyards, and facilities. On arrival, enjoy a glass of exquisite wine from the distinguished Catena Zapata Winery, celebrated globally.
Accompanied by a sommelier, we will wander through the vineyard, which features over 3,000 vines sourced directly from Mendoza. As we stroll, you can savor complimentary tapas alongside additional glasses of wine in the Patio and Winery areas while learning about the history of the estate.
Following this, we will indulge in a memorable three-course paired lunch. The culinary philosophy emphasizes "Kilometer Zero," utilizing fresh produce from their garden and available local suppliers, maximizing flavor through seasonal ingredients. You can choose from the following menu options:
Appetizers
- Empanada of slow-cooked osso buco served with romesco sauce made from smoked peppers and extra virgin olive oil.
- Tartare of seasonal mushrooms with Worcestershire and Dijon mustard emulsion, mushroom powder, and dehydrated black olives.
- Carpaccio of Atlantic prawns accompanied by an olive and lemon emulsion, corn, and roasted bell pepper coulis.
Main Courses
- Citrus cappellacci with Patagonian trout in a vegetable and miso consommé.
- Ribeye steak cooked to perfection with crispy potatoes, panko-crusted fried egg, jalapeño mayonnaise, and its own juices.
- Crispy eggplant served with seasonal sautéed vegetables in soy sauce, teriyaki, and toasted sesame seeds.
Desserts
- Brûléed banana paired with coconut ice cream, toasted flakes, lime cream, wasabi custard, and figs.
- Zabayon with pear, Cabernet Franc, sesame, and charcoal.
This lunch is complemented by a selection of wines from the esteemed Saint Felicien by Catena Zapata line, along with water and Nespresso coffee. After the meal, we will return you to your hotel in Buenos Aires.
8-Hour Itinerary
Welcomed with a glass of wine, we will delve into the rich history of Estancia Vigil, its guiding philosophy, and the origins of its carefully selected vines brought from the province of Mendoza.
The guided tour will take you through the facility, including the fireplace area, patios, and vineyards. Following this, enjoy a tasting of three carefully selected wine varieties by Alejandro Vigil, a highly regarded winemaker in the country. This tasting will reveal the potential of Argentine Malbec through selections such as:
- DV Catena Malbec La Rioja: a refined, floral wine with notable minerality, grown at 4,921 ft (1,500 m).
- DV Catena Malbec Salta: robust, spicy, and exhibiting excellent natural acidity from vines at 6,561 ft (2,000 m) above sea level.
- DV Catena Malbec Mendoza: harvested from 3,116 ft (950 m), showcasing a fruity, balanced character typical of the style.
This tasting will pair with an assortment of regional cheeses, artisanal charcuterie, and freshly baked breads. To round off the experience, you will be treated to a full three-course lunch with your choice from the following specialties:
Appetizers
- Osobuco empanada served with tartar sauce
- Humita empanada with a green sauce (vegan option)
- Beef carpaccio topped with herb salt, vitel tonné of pejerrey, quail eggs, homemade mustard, and caper leaves
- Swiss chard and beet fritters served with beet hummus, pickles, and mixed greens
- 63°C egg with onion foam, roasted pepper emulsion, and potato (vegetarian option)
Main Dishes
- Short ribs accompanied by creamy white beans, asparagus, celery powder, and meat sauce
- Trout finished with emulsion, cauliflower couscous, and kale (vegetarian option)
- Roasted eggplant paired with cashew cream, gremolata, teriyaki, and black beans (vegan option)
- Beef fillet served with creamy potatoes, mushroom demi-glace, and a cured yolk emulsion
Desserts
- Cocoa profiterole filled with hazelnuts and caramelized banana, served with orange ice cream and vanilla sauce
- Mandarin curd paired with financier, lemon ice cream, mascarpone, and ginger

This lunch also includes a glass of El Enemigo wine paired with each course. Afterwards, we will return to your hotel.

- 5-hour excursion: pickup will occur between 10:30 am and 11 am, with the experience commencing at 12 pm.
- 8-hour excursion: pickup will occur between 9:30 am and 10 am, with the experience commencing at 11 am.
