Eva Perón: A Symbol of Argentina

María Eva Duarte de Perón, popularly recognized as Evita, was born on May 7, 1919, in Los Toldos, Buenos Aires province.

Initially pursuing her dream as an actress, her life took a pivotal turn in 1944 upon meeting General Juan Domingo Perón, whom she subsequently married. Following Perón's victory in the 1946 elections, Evita assumed the role of First Lady of Argentina.

Eva Perón was a fervent supporter of workers' rights and social justice. In 1947, she played a crucial role in advancing women's voting rights, which were ratified in the country.

Among her significant accomplishments was establishing the Eva Perón Foundation, which facilitated the development of hospitals and educational institutions while offering support to the disadvantaged.

Although she passed away in 1952 at the age of just 33, her influence remains profound and enduring.

Museo Evita Buenos Aires

Situated in the Palermo enclave of Buenos Aires, Museo Evita occupies a historically significant building from 1923, which served as a shelter for at-risk women initiated by the Eva Perón Foundation in 1948.
