Details of the Activity
We will gather at 1053 Balcarce Street at the scheduled time to commence the fileteado porteño workshop in San Telmo.
The session will begin with an introduction to the captivating heritage of fileteado porteño. Originating in Buenos Aires in the early 20th century, this decorative art form has gained recognition for its vibrant colors, elegance, and playful humor, even being designated as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.
Under the guidance of a skilled fileteador, you will learn about the origins and tales behind this artistic style while mastering the essentials: the interplay of contrasts, the balance of symmetrical shapes, the delicacy of fine lines, and typography influenced by tango culture.
Following this introduction, you will engage in a practical fileteado session, where you will have the chance to design and paint your own motif with the instructor's support. No previous experience is necessary—let your imagination flourish!
