Day Trip Overview

Your journey begins with a convenient pickup from your hotel at the prearranged time, followed by a minibus ride leading us to the outskirts of the city. We will embark on a scenic drive of approximately 12.42 miles (20 km) south, guiding us to one of the most breathtaking natural sites in the northern Dominican Republic: the renowned 27 Charcos de Damajagua.

Within this area, you'll discover an extraordinary series of natural pools formed by impressive waterfalls. These majestic cascades have created expansive open-air caves, where visitors can swim, leap, and glide down thrilling natural slides, providing enjoyment for guests of all ages.

Among the 27 pools, we'll encounter the captivating "La Tinajita" waterfall. Curious about the meaning behind its name? You'll need to join us on this journey to learn the story! Additionally, we'll explore the enchanting "La Virgen" waterfall, shrouded in local legend that traces back to the Taino Indians... What might the tale reveal?

After a refreshing time at the various pools, a delicious buffet lunch will be served to replenish your energy. Once we've refueled, we'll wave farewell to the waterfalls and proceed to Imbert Falls. On our way, a stop at a well-known plantation will provide insights into local culinary traditions.

To conclude our excursion, we'll visit a shop specializing in petrified wood crafts, which promises to be a delightful experience. Following our adventure, we'll return to the minibus and make our way back to the hotels in Puerto Plata, with an estimated return time of 4 to 7 hours from the start.
