Activity Overview

Our adventure begins at a designated farm situated on the edge of Cabezabellosa, a charming village nestled in the northern part of Cáceres province, Extremadura.

Once we are equipped with the essential riding gear and briefed on vital safety protocols, we will set off on a leisurely horseback ride through the Vettón Forest of Cabezabellosa, a remarkable environment that promises to leave a lasting impression!

The route will take us through a stunning oak woodland, part of the Special Conservation Area of Sierra de Gredos-Valle del Jerte. As we traverse this picturesque terrain, we will also feast our eyes on the breathtaking views of the Ambroz River valley.

Along the way, meandering down various paths and mountainous trails, we will encounter several remnants of the Vettón culture. This pre-Roman civilization with Celtic roots established its presence in the western Iberian Peninsula, and its influence remains significant across the regions of Avila, Toledo, and particularly in Salamanca and Cáceres.

Following our exploration of different natural viewpoints showcasing the area’s vibrant flora and fauna, we will bring our 2-hour horseback excursion to a close as we return to our starting point.
