While visiting the Château de Cadillac, you will uncover the stories of the Gascony cadets, notable precursors to the Musketeers. Additionally, the fortress served as a women's prison from the 19th century until 1950, and you can explore these historically significant prison areas.
Visiting Hours
The Ducal Castle of Cadillac offers entry to guests during these times:
- June to September: 10:00 am to 1:15 pm and 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm
- October to May: 10:00 am to 12:30 pm and 2:00 pm to 5:30 pm
- Closed on Mondays from October to May
The last entry is one hour before closing time.
On December 24 and 31, visitors must leave by 4:30 pm. The castle remains closed on January 1, Easter Monday, May 1, and December 25.

This archaeological site provides complimentary entry for the following groups:
- Individuals aged 18 to 25 from the European Union
- Minors under 18, regardless of their nationality
- Job seekers, individuals with disabilities, and one accompanying person
- Media representatives, architecture students, tourism professionals, military staff, police, and other state security personnel
- All visitors also benefit from free admission on the first Sunday of the month between January 1 and March 31 and November 1 through December 31, as well as during the third weekend of September.

Opening Times
Ducal Castle of Cadillac welcomes visitors during the following times:
- From June to September: from 10:00 am to 1:15 pm and from 2 pm to 6 pm
- From October to May: from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm and from 2 pm to 5:30 pm
- Closed on Mondays from October to May
Final admission is 1 hour before closing time.
On December 24 and 31, the closing time is at 4:30 pm. As well as that, the castle will be closed on January 1, Easter Monday, May 1 and December 25.
