Our first destination is Giza, where we will stand in awe before the iconic Pyramid of Khufu, celebrated as one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. We will also take in the grandeur of the Pyramids of Khafre and Menkaure, and approach the imposing Sphinx, the ancient sentinel of this remarkable funerary complex. Expect plenty of intriguing insights throughout our visit!
When midday arrives, we'll pause for a delightful traditional buffet at a local eatery, allowing you to savor a range of authentic Egyptian cuisine.
After lunch, our journey continues to the Grand Egyptian Museum, recognized as the largest museum dedicated to ancient Egyptian history, showcasing 50,000 artifacts across 12 halls. Upon arrival, we will be greeted by the stunning sight of the world’s first suspended obelisk at the museum’s entrance.
Once inside, we will enter the Grand Hall where the impressive 12-meter (39-foot) statue of Ramesses II stands. Ascending the grand staircase, flanked by over 60 unique archaeological treasures, we will explore exhibitions that chronicle the evolution of Pharaonic Egypt from its inception well into the Roman era.
The treasures of Tutankhamun are a highlight of the Grand Egyptian Museum, featuring his renowned solid gold mask along with other exquisite jewels, originally discovered by the famed archaeologist Howard Carter in 1922 within the tomb of this legendary pharaoh.
After a comprehensive 6-hour experience filled with awe and knowledge, you will be returned to your hotel, concluding this enriching exploration of the Grand Egyptian Museum and the Pyramids of Giza.
