Planning for this massive exhibition space commenced in the 1990s, but it wasn't until the early 2000s that construction kicked off.

On November 1, 2025, the museum unveiled all its rooms to the public, solidifying its status as a must-visit destination within Egypt.

Details of the Activity

At the designated time, transportation will be arranged from your hotel in Cairo or Giza, proceeding towards the GEM (Grand Egyptian Museum) in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle.

Upon arrival at this monumental structure, inspired by the civilization of the Pharaohs, a 2-hour exploration will commence through the museum's highlight areas.

The return journey to your hotel will follow the tour, with an expected arrival time between 3 and 4 hours post pickup.

Afterwards, we will step inside through the Grand Hall, where a 12-meter (39 ft) tall statue of Pharaoh Ramesses II awaits, alongside 10 statues of Senusret I, the King Merenpetah column, and diverse Ptolemaic statues.

Encompassed within this stunning reception area, illuminated by a glass ceiling, lies the renowned Grand Staircase. This gallery grants access to the permanent exhibition rooms, showcasing an esteemed collection of sculptures.

While navigating this magnificent staircase, you will encounter several sculptures of deities and Egyptian pharaohs, as well as an assortment of stone columns and sarcophagi, all interconnected to the journey to eternity.

Within the permanent exhibition galleries, make sure to view the complete collection from Pharaoh Tutankhamun's treasure room and the celebrated solar barque of Cheops, among other ancient Egyptian marvels.

Additionally, we’ll visit a glassed area providing views of the Pyramids of Giza in the background. Our tour will wrap up in the shopping gallery, where you can purchase replicas of Egyptian artifacts, culinary books inspired by Ancient Egypt, local crafts, and other keepsakes.
