2-Day Trip to Menia

Day 1: Departing Cairo to Menia

Leaving behind the bustling streets of Cairo, we will travel towards Menia, also referred to as Al Minya, situated approximately 245 km (150 miles) to the south of the capital. Upon arrival at our hotel, we will check in and store our luggage before embarking on our first visit to Tuna el-Gebel, an impressive necropolis that features the tomb of Petosiris. This site offers a scenic backdrop along the banks of the Nile, allowing for a peaceful exploration enhanced by our knowledgeable guide, who will share enthralling details and insights about this historical site.

Afterward, we will return to our hotel in Menia for a hearty dinner, providing the necessary energy to prepare for the explorations planned for the following day.

Day 2: Menia to Cairo

Following breakfast at the hotel, our journey continues to the necropolis of Beni Hassan. Here, we will encounter 39 spectacular tombs hewn from rock, dating back to the Middle Kingdom when they served as resting places for princes and high-ranking officials. Our guide will narrate the fascinating history of Beni Hassan as we wander through these ancient marvels.

Next, we will visit the archaeological site of Amarna, the former site of the ancient city of Akhetatón. Concluding our adventures, we will make our way back to Cairo.

Accommodation During the Tour

Your tour package includes one night of half-board accommodation (dinner and breakfast provided) at the Grand Aton Hotel Alminaya. Should this hotel be unavailable, an alternative lodging of equal or greater standard will be arranged.
