Chichén Itzá, Coba & Ik Kil Cenote Day Trip
Description
For those eager to dive into the rich cultural heritage and natural beauty of the Yucatán Peninsula, the Day Trip to Chichén Itzá, Coba, and Ik Kil Cenote offers an enriching experience. This journey takes you deep into the lush jungle to uncover two remarkable archaeological sites alongside a stunning cenote.
Description
Your adventure begins with a convenient pickup from your hotel, paving the way to our first destination: Chichén Itzá.
We will kick off the tour with an in-depth exploration of the Chichén Itzá archaeological site, recognized as the most notable remnant of the Mayan civilization. It has earned the prestigious title of a World Heritage Site from UNESCO and was listed among the New 7 Wonders of the World in 2007.
As we journey through this historical landmark, you’ll discover intriguing legends and compelling anecdotes while we pass by iconic structures, including the Temple of Kukulcán, the Temple of the Warriors, the Platform of Venus, and the Great Ball Court. Following the guided part of the tour, you'll have a full hour for independent exploration of Chichén Itzá.
Our next destination is the renowned Ik Kil cenote, acclaimed as one of the finest cenotes in the Yucatán Peninsula. Here, you will have 45 minutes to enjoy a refreshing swim in its crystalline waters. If you're feeling hungry, a satisfying buffet lunch awaits you, set against the backdrop of this sacred site for the Mayans.
Once we finish lunch, we’ll proceed to the ancient city of Coba, where a guided tour will shed light on its rich historical significance. You’ll stroll among the impressive ruins and gaze up at Nohoch Mul, the tallest pyramid in the Yucatán.
As the day winds down, we’ll make our way back to your hotel, concluding a fulfilling experience after approximately 10 hours.
