Description
Prepare to embark on a time-traveling adventure! By obtaining this ticket to Mundo a Vapor, you’ll explore the transformative impact of steam engines. Additionally, you will have the chance to experience a train ride and take in panoramic views from the top of the Ferris wheel. This promises to be an enjoyable experience for the entire family!
Mundo a Vapor (Steam Engine Park)
Your exploration of Mundo a Vapor kicks off with a striking display: a locomotive bursting through the facade, replicating the dramatic 1895 Montparnasse train incident from Paris. Welcome to one of the most captivating parks in the Serra Gaúcha!
Since its inauguration in 1991, the park invites you on a mesmerizing journey through time, showcasing how steam engines dramatically altered industries across the globe. This destination seamlessly combines history, technology, and entertainment to enchant visitors of every age.
Upon entering, the wonder unfolds along a pathway through 10 immersive, multisensory rooms. Guided by an English-speaking guide, you will closely examine working miniatures that illustrate the remarkable strength of steam engines. Throughout the tour, you'll uncover how this innovation was utilized across various sectors, including brick production, steel manufacturing, energy generation, and agriculture.
The park also harbors a delightful enigma! As part of your guided experience, you'll join an engaging quest to assist Fuligem, the amiable protagonist of the park. Your challenge: uncover the reason behind his rusting heart and discover the remedy to restore its beat.
Having unveiled the mysteries of the Industrial Revolution and aided Fuligem, your adventure extends to the outdoors. At Estação Bosque, you can enjoy a tranquil 10-minute train ride. The steam locomotive leisurely traverses the native forests of Serra Gaúcha, providing a serene escape into nature.
To culminate your experience, ascend 52 meters (171 feet) on the Ferris wheel. Enjoy approximately a 20-minute ride offering 360° views of the surrounding area, floating alongside lush araucaria trees and the verdant landscape of Canela, while catching glimpses of one of its iconic sights: the Stone Cathedral.
