Your journey begins with a comfortable 40-minute ferry ride from Cangas Marina, taking you to one of the most breathtaking locations in Galicia. You have the freedom to choose your departure time. Get ready to set sail!
Upon arrival at the Cíes Islands, you’ll be immersed in a true paradise, enveloped by crystal-clear waters and stunning views that will leave lasting memories.
During your time on the islands, consider visiting notable landmarks such as the Cíes Lighthouse, Alto do Príncipe, and Rodas Beach, among other remarkable sights.
Schedule for Cíes Islands - Cangas de Morrazo
Return ferry times from the Cíes Islands to Cangas de Morrazo adjust with the seasons and may vary. You will be able to view the schedule during the booking process. However, we will confirm the best time that aligns with your preference.
Options for Returning on Different Days
If you wish to return to Cangas de Morrazo on a different day, please indicate this when making your reservation. If your plans include camping on the islands, it will be necessary to secure prior permission from the Xunta de Galicia.
Guided Tours During Off-Peak Season
From October 1 to May 14, entrance to the Cíes Islands includes a guided tour lasting one hour, as independent visits are not permitted during this period. The guide will accompany you from the departure point, sharing insights about the islands’ highlights once you reach the Cíes pier. Throughout the guided explorations, you will uncover intriguing details about the area’s history, flora, and fauna.
This guided experience is not available during the 10 days of Easter Week (from the Friday before Easter through Easter Sunday), as this time frame is recognized as peak season.
Required Authorization from Xunta de Galicia
Please be aware that during high season (May 15 - September 30, and Easter week), participants must present authorization from the Xunta de Galicia to access the Cíes Islands. Following your reservation, we will promptly email you this authorization. Outside of these dates, the guide will provide it on the tour day.
Camping Authorization Details
If you opt to camp on the Cíes Islands, the campsite is responsible for managing the necessary authorization; they will also handle any cancellations if needed. If you decide to cancel, it’s essential first to contact the campsite. Once they confirm the cancellation of your authorization, you then may reach out to the ferry company for the cancellation of your boat tickets within the designated refund timeline.
Furthermore, once an authorization is linked to a ferry company, it cannot be transferred to another company. Hence, if you cancel your reservation with this service provider, be sure to also cancel the authorization before generating a new permit.

Important information
You'll need to go to the offices of the Mar de Ons shipping company to hand in the voucher. The address is as follows: Av. de Montero Ríos, 14, 36940 Cangas. You'll be given your tickets to board the ferry as well as directions to the pier. We recommend arriving in plenty of time to be able to do this, but no more than 30 minutes as tickets can't be issued earlier than this.
It's difficult to park in the area, so we recommend arriving well in advance to be able to find parking.
Necessary Documentation
The Cíes islands are a protected archipelago, with a daily visitor limit, and to be able to visit, you should obtain authorization from the Xunta de Galicia which the local provider will process.
In high season (from May 15 to September 30 and at Easter), once the authorization has been processed, you'll receive it by e-mail. You must bring it with you, as well as this voucher. If you prefer, you can request it at the ticket office on the day of your visit, as long as you arrive at least 25 minutes in advance. The rest of the year, we will not send it to you, as it'll be the guide himself who will bring it on the day of the tour.
If you still haven't received the authorization of the Xunta in your email 24 hours before the date of your visit, you can access the website of the Xunta and download the authorizations by following these steps:

- Once on the page, select option #3 "Search by date and visitor's document"
- After filling in your details, you'll be able to download the authorization directly
If for any reason any of the participants cannot attend the activity, please give at least 15 days' notice and indicate the name and surname of the person who will be absent so that the Xunta de Galicia can remove him/her from the list.
Authorization for Campers
If you decide to stay at a campsite on the Cíes Islands, the campsite itself must process the authorization, or cancel it in case you want to cancel. If the authorization is not canceled by the campsite, the shipping company cannot cancel your boat tickets.
Regarding the authorizations, once they are associated to a shipping company, they cannot be linked to another, that is to say, if the reservation is canceled, they will always have to be canceled and then new ones will have to be processed.
Thus, if the campsite confirms that it has processed the cancellation of your authorization, in this case, you'll have to contact the shipping company so that, within the stipulated refund period, it can cancel your boat tickets.
What Does the Tour Include?
The activity includes round-trip sea transport and the management of the permit from the Xunta de Galicia to access the Cíes Islands. The guided tour is subject to availability, the company will include it while places last.
