Our adventure begins at the designated meeting point, the Huerto Ribera, a historical grove founded in the 19th century. Throughout our exploration, we will delve into the methods used to cultivate premium oranges.
The tour opens with a visit to the spacious warehouse, leading us through the lush gardens where you will encounter century-old orange trees amid vibrant flowers. Breathe in the delightful scent of orange blossoms that fill the air!
Discover the essence of traditional farming techniques while learning how modern innovations have been woven into the fabric of this agricultural sector. Are you aware of the various citrus fruit varieties available? You'll learn about Sanguinelli, citrus yuzu, Buddha's hand, finger lime, calamondin, kumquats, and more, and understand how they each differ.
You will also observe the functioning of irrigation methods, and techniques of pruning and grafting. Get ready to engage in friendly competition, with a prize for the winner: a diploma recognizing your skills as a qualified farmer. Furthermore, you will experience the daily routine of farm workers by participating in a hands-on activity where you can harvest up to 1.5 kilos of oranges or tangerines by your own effort.
After 2 hours and 30 minutes of immersive exploration within the grove, we will indulge in a tasting of exquisite artisanal liqueurs infused with fruity flavors - a delightful treat!
