Visiting Hours

The operating hours for Carcassonne Castle are as follows:

• April 1 to September 30: from 10 am to 6:30 pm
• October 1 to March 31: from 9:30 am to 5 pm

It is important to note that the last admission is one hour prior to closing time.

On December 24 and 31, the castle and its walls will close at 4 pm.

Admission Policy

Entry to Carcassonne Castle and walls is complimentary for the following groups:

• Young individuals from the European Union aged between 18 and 25.
• All children under 18, without regard to nationality.

To obtain the free admission mentioned above, you must visit the ticket office on-site and provide a valid ID that proves your eligibility for the ticket.

Furthermore, entry is free for all visitors on the first Sunday of the month between January 1 and March 31, between November 1 and December 31, as well as during the third weekend of September.
