Day Trip Overview

We will begin our adventure with a timely hotel pickup, from where we will board a minibus bound for Piazza Armerina.

Our first highlight will be the Villa Romana del Casale, a stunning Roman villa recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here, you'll be captivated by its exceptional mosaics, regarded as some of the most well-preserved from ancient Rome. This intriguing location will transport us back to the daily lives of ancient inhabitants, showcasing mythological scenes, hunts, and everyday activities. Following our visit, we’ll stroll through the charming streets of Piazza Armerina.

After two hours of exploration at this extraordinary site, we will return to our minibus and head to the next stop: Caltagirone. In less than 45 minutes, we’ll arrive in this city renowned for its ceramic craftsmanship, a tradition that traces back to the Arab Era.

In Caltagirone, a guided tour will introduce us to its prominent landmarks, including the exquisite Scalinata di Santa Maria del Monte, famous for its stunning hand-painted tiles. We will meander through its narrow alleys filled with artisan workshops, where you can admire and perhaps purchase unique ceramic creations.

After our guided exploration, you will have free time to enjoy lunch at a local eatery, presenting an excellent opportunity to sample the flavors of authentic Sicilian cuisine.

Once you've refreshed, we will embark on the return journey to your hotel, concluding this enriching day after approximately 8 hours.
