Day Excursion to Nova Petrópolis, Gramado, and Canela

Your journey will begin with a pick-up at 8:30 am at your Caxias do Sul hotel, as we set off southward towards some of the most enchanting cities in the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul.

The first destination is Nova Petrópolis, an inviting town where the history of German immigration in Brazil comes to life. During our visit, we will take a guided tour to explore notable landmarks, including the stunning Praça das Flores.

Next, we will venture into the captivating landscape of Gramado. Here, you will have the opportunity to admire iconic sites such as the serene Black Lake, the charming Rua Torta, the Praça das Etnias (Square of Ethnic Groups), and the scenic Lago da Borges. Following this, we'll visit the Vale do Quilombo viewpoint for breathtaking vistas of the natural beauty surrounding us.

Following our exploration of Gramado, we will proceed to Canela, where we will stop to appreciate the impressive cathedral and stroll through the main shopping streets of the city center. You will also have about 40 minutes of leisure time to explore the area.

Our route will then take us to the outskirts of Canela, where we will witness the magnificent Caracol Falls, a breathtaking 131-meter (430-foot) waterfall that promises to impress. After enjoying this natural marvel, you will have the option to visit either the Skyglass platform or Le Jardin Lavanda Park located in Gramado. Each location offers 2 hours for you to wander and take in your surroundings.

After regrouping, we will proceed to a chocolate factory to discover the process behind the production of local chocolate delights.

Post our factory visit, you'll likely be ready for a bite to eat. We will return to the center of Canela, granting you an hour of free time for lunch. Once we finish lunch, we’ll head back to your hotel in Caxias do Sul, anticipating our arrival at around 7 pm.

Please note that until March 1, 2025, Caracol Falls will be closed. In such an event, an alternative visit to Castelinho da Familia Franzen or the Aerial Cable Car will be arranged.
