Cebu and Mactan Guided Tour
Description
Discover the cultural heart of Cebu City, the initial capital of the Philippines, through an engaging guided exploration. This journey will also lead you to significant sites on the nearby island of Mactan.
Exploration Tour of Cebu and Mactan
Your adventure begins with a pickup from your hotel in Cebu, setting off to explore the historic core of the city, acknowledged as the oldest in the Philippines. Our first destination is Magellan's Cross, where you will delve into the intriguing links between the renowned Portuguese explorer and Cebu.
Next, we will proceed to the Santo Niño Basilica, home to one of the Philippines' most treasured relics, the Santo Niño de Cebú (Holy Child of Cebu). After our visit to the basilica, we will continue to Fort San Pedro, a military fortification established by Spanish colonizers and local Cebuanos in 1738.
Our journey will take us to the Yap-Sandiego Ancestral House, a structure that has been preserved in its authentic form for over three centuries. The artifacts on display here provide valuable insights into the lifestyle of Cebu's merchants and families in earlier eras.
Before departing from the city, we will explore the stunning Taoist Temple, perched on a hilltop, offering spectacular views that stretch across Cebu and into the regions of Mandaue and Lapulapu.
To recharge, we will savor a local dish at a traditional restaurant, followed by our crossing to Mactan Island via the impressive Marcelo Fernan Bridge.
While in Mactan, we will visit the Lapu-Lapu Shrine, featuring a striking bronze statue dedicated to the renowned indigenous leader. Our final stop before returning to Cebu's hotels will be a local guitar factory, where you will gain insights into the crafting process of these instruments and their significance in Philippine culture.
