Tagus International Natural Park Boat Ride + Castelo Branco Visit
Description
The Tagus International Natural Park is one of the hidden jewels of Extremadura. Join us on this boat trip as we traverse the border into Portugal to explore the town of Castelo Branco.
Tour Overview
We will convene at the specific time at the Cedillo dock, where a boat awaits to guide us through the captivating Tagus International Natural Park. Are you prepared to uncover one of Extremadura's lesser-known treasures?
During the one-hour sail along the Ponsul River, we will marvel at the stunning views of the Mediterranean forest lining the riverbanks. The onboard crew will provide insightful commentary regarding the local wildlife that inhabits this remarkable area.
As we continue along the river, we'll cross into Portugal and make our way to the town of Lentiscais. Upon disembarking, we will board a bus that will take us to our next highlight: Castelo Branco. Are you curious about the origins of its name?
In this enchanting Portuguese town, with an origin story still shrouded in mystery, we will have approximately 5.5 to 6 hours to roam freely and delve into its intriguing history tied to the Templars. Highlights include a visit to the ruins of the Castelo Branco fortress and a leisurely stroll through its picturesque gardens, reminiscent of a fairy tale. If your visit occurs during the summer months, a stop at the Piscina Paria is highly recommended.
After immersing ourselves in the charm of Castelo Branco, we will return via bus to the Lentiscais dock, where we will sail back to Cedillo. Our journey concludes after a total of approximately 8 to 9 hours of adventure.
