Huariaca & Conoc Tour + Casa de la Moneda
Your day begins with a pickup at 9 am from your hotel as we embark towards the village of Huariaca, located approximately an hour and a half away from Cerro de Pasco.
The town's history stretches back millennia, with evidence of early human settlements that left behind intriguing cave art. Interestingly, Huariaca is home to around 50 unique caves. During our exploration, we will discover the vibrant Plaza de Armas and its main thoroughfares while delving into the rich historical tapestry woven by various pre-Inca cultures prior to European colonization.
Next, we will head to the town of Conoc to experience its inviting thermal baths. Known for their rejuvenating properties, these waters are set alongside the serene Tingo River, offering an idyllic spa atmosphere for unwinding.
We will also take a moment to explore the ancient remnants of the Conoc mining complex, where silver was unearthed during the colonial period in the nearby Yauricocha and Colquijirca hills, the very area where Cerro de Pasco is situated today.
Our adventure continues as we return to Huariaca to visit a trout farm and the thermal springs of Catalina Huanca. We will conclude our journey with a trip to the Casa de la Moneda located in the town of Quinua, known for minting some of the earliest coins of the Republic of Peru!
By around 3 pm, we will complete our tour and transport you back to your hotel in Cerro de Pasco.
