Charlottetown Small Group Guided Tour
Description
Experience the charm of a city rich in historical significance. This guided tour of Charlottetown in an intimate group setting invites you to uncover the stories that shaped the birthplace of the Canadian Confederation.
Tour Details
Situated in the heart of Prince Edward Island, Charlottetown's compact size belies its deep-rooted history. Are you eager to delve into its past but unsure how to begin? Meet us at 6 Prince Street at the designated time to embark on this Charlottetown guided exploration.
Our journey begins at the picturesque Confederation Landing, from where we will make our way towards Great George Street. This notable street is famous for its Georgian architecture on one side, which stands in striking contrast to the Neo-Gothic structures across the street.
Next, we will visit the renowned Bishops' Palace and the magnificent St. Dunstan's Basilica, two significant landmarks in the city. Our guided adventure will continue around Province House, a historic site recognized as the birthplace of the Canadian Confederation. Interestingly, it is known as the second oldest government seat in Canada.
As we stroll through Charlottetown's lively center, we will uncover Victoria Row, a hub where local musicians gather to present live performances daily. Nearby is the Confederation Centre of the Arts, a venue that has celebrated the beloved play Anne of Green Gables for over five decades.
Throughout the tour, we will also visit key locations including the Confederation Court Mall, Town Hall, Rochford Square, and other governmental edifices such as Beaconsfield Historic House and Government House.
Our exploration will culminate at the harbourside, where we will pass by the Culinary Institute of Canada and the historic Queen Charlotte Armoury, eventually returning to our starting point to conclude this enriching 2-hour guided tour.
