Chiang Mai Temples Private Tour
Description
Explore the Historic City and Significant Buddhist Temples in northern Thailand during this engaging private tour of Chiang Mai.
Description
Our journey will commence at 8 am with a pickup from your accommodation in Chiang Mai, setting the stage for a discovery of the city’s iconic landmarks and noteworthy temples. With a legacy spanning over 700 years, there is much to uncover!
The first stop on our itinerary will be the Wat Phra Singh Temple, renowned for its opulent design and historical significance. Nestled in the western sector of the Old City, this temple's roots trace back to the mid-14th century.
Our next destination is the Wat Chedi Luang Temple, which previously served as a stronghold against Burmese invasions. Inside, we’ll observe the impressive chedi that once housed the revered Emerald Buddha. As we stroll through the historic district, we will also visit the Wat Chiang Man Temple, recognized as the oldest temple in Chiang Mai, adorned with numerous elephant statues and intriguing architectural features.
We will then discover a distinctive wooden temple, slightly tucked away despite its central position. Here, we can admire the exquisite craftsmanship of the woodwork and the temple’s monumental Buddha statue. On certain days, you might even witness local rituals taking place!
After appreciating the majesty of these significant temples, we will head to a local fruit and vegetable market, where insights into the ingredients integral to Thai cuisine await. This enriching exploration lasts approximately four to four and a half hours before concluding our tour.
