Chicago Theatre Tour

At the designated meeting time, we will gather at the entrance of the Chicago Theatre and embark on a guiding exploration of this renowned venue, celebrated throughout the nation.

Initially opened in 1921, the Chicago Theatre boasts an exquisite and lavish design. Its remarkable auditorium draws inspiration from the Royal Chapel of Versailles. The theater is notable not only for its elegance but also for its grand scale, accommodating up to 3,600 attendees with stalls that extend seven stories high.

For nearly forty years, the theater thrived until the late 1970s, when economic and social challenges led to a decline, relegating it to a state of decay as a second-rate movie house. Fortunately, in 1986, it escaped demolition, receiving significant restoration efforts that culminated in a grand reopening celebrated with a concert by Frank Sinatra.

Since its revival, many renowned artists such as Alicia Keys, Dolly Parton, Prince, Oasis, and Van Morrison have graced its stage.

During our journey through the Chicago Theatre, we will uncover its rich history with the help of a knowledgeable guide. The tour will include a stroll through the elegant main hall, an ascent up the grand staircase, and more. Prepare to be amazed by the sheer scale and exceptional acoustics of the auditorium.

Additionally, we will have the opportunity to explore the dressing rooms and stand upon the very stage where legends like Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin captivated audiences.
