This excursion encompasses a visit to the archaeological complex Huaca Rajada or Sipan, significant to the Moche and Lambayeque cultures. During the visit, we will explore the interior of the complex, which comprises huacas and pyramids utilized for religious practices, showcasing the mausoleum and the accompanied remains of the Lord of Sipan.
Our journey will further lead us to the Lambayeque region to delve into the Royal Tombs Museum. The activity will be akin to that of the Royal Tombs Museum + Huaca Rajada tour.
Tucume (4.5 hours)
The tour to Tucume, dubbed the Valley of the Pyramids, invites exploration of the ancient capital of the Lambayeque kingdom during pre-Hispanic times, where we will encounter 26 adobe pyramids. Additionally, we will visit the Tucume Museum, which houses original artifacts from various cultures.
Afterward, we will explore several main pyramids, such as Huaca las Estacas, Huaca el Mirador, or Huaca Larga. This itinerary will closely reflect that of the Tucume tour.
Tucume + Royal Tombs of Sipan (8.5 hours)
Our journey will lead us from Chiclayo to the Huaca Rajada archaeological site. We will discover replicas of the tombs of the Lord of Sipan and continue to Tucume, renowned for its extensive pyramid structures that date back to pre-Columbian Peru. The excursion will be similar to that of Tucume + Royal Tombs of Sipan.
Batan Grande + National Museum of Sican (5.5 hours)
Leaving Chiclayo, we will head towards Batan Grande, an archaeological area featuring twenty distinctive pyramids. Our visit will include Huaca del Oro and Huaca la Ventana, two remarkable structures in the site. - The pyramids of Tucume are accessible on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
- The Royal Tombs Museum opens on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
- The Sican Museum is currently closed.
