Tepuhueico Park Hike
Description
Venture into the untamed lands of Tepuhueico Park during this hiking adventure, where the rich biodiversity of Isla Grande de Chiloé awaits to be uncovered.
Options
Upon booking, you will have the chance to select from the following options:
3-kilometre (1.8-mile) Hike: 1.5 - 2 hours
This trail begins around the periphery of the Tepuhueico Lodge, leading us to the lake of the same name, which is also the origin of the Bravo River.
As we delve deeper into the woodland, a 10-metre (32-foot) cascading waterfall will be our next sight. Here, you can take in the views of the river, its caramel-hued streams flowing towards the domain of the huillín, known as the Southern River Otter.
We will reach the Waterfall viewpoint and continue our exploration to Mañíos Square, home to ancient trees that have stood for over 600 years. You will be awestruck by their imposing trunks that rise up to 30 metres (98 feet).
7-kilometre (4.3-mile) Hike: 4 - 5 hours
Our adventure starts at the Arrayanes Cathedral, where the remarkable thickness of the vegetation will captivate you. Ahead lies a myrtle tree forest, home to various tree species striving towards the sunlight, with some soaring to heights of 25 metres (82 feet).
We'll meander along the Bravo River's edges and navigate through another rich forest adorned with mosses, lichens, shrubs, and ancient trees. This option also includes a brief stop at Mañíos Square, a breathtaking natural setting.
Our expedition will culminate at the Waterfall viewpoint, where the soothing sounds of cascading water will enhance your experience in Tepuhueico Park.
