Description

We will convene at the specified time in the Plaza de Colón, where our journey begins as we stroll towards the venerable Santa Teresa Convent, one of the city's oldest structures.

Established in 1760, this remarkable baroque monastery has been home to the Discalced Carmelite Sisters since its inception. The site serves as a crucial representation of the architectural and cultural legacy of Bolivia, recently restored to enhance the visitor experience.

Throughout the visit, we will navigate the various sections of the convent-museum, allowing ourselves to soak in the tranquil atmosphere. Our exploration will include viewing exquisite mural paintings located in several rooms, along with the church.

Inside the temple, we will have the opportunity to appreciate notable religious art pieces, particularly those displayed on the main altar, featuring an intricate central altarpiece adorned with gold leaf detailing.

We will also roam through the cloister, which boasts a stunning stone arcade. Following just under two hours of discovering this serene place of worship, we’ll conclude our tour and bid farewell as we exit.
