Description

Immerse yourself in the art of chocolate-making through a hands-on workshop at the Choco-Story Colmar Museum. As you engage in crafting chocolates, you will also have the opportunity to discover the museum’s immersive exhibits.

Activity Overview

Welcome to the curious world of chocolate at the Choco-Story Museum! Start your journey at 12 Place de la Cathédrale in Colmar on the scheduled day.

Your adventure begins with a chocolate-making workshop lasting 45 minutes, where you will learn essential techniques, including the art of dipping while creating personalized chocolate bars. Guided by a skilled chocolatier, you will assemble delightful treats to take home and savor.

Following the workshop, take a moment to wander through the museum's interactive exhibit, which provides insights into the fascinating history of the cacao bean. An audio guide in English will enrich your visit as you uncover the journey of cocoa from its origins to its European introduction by the conquistadors in the 15th century.

Explore how cocoa was intertwined with the lives of the Mayan, Aztec, and Inca civilizations. Discover this connection as you experience interactive stations that allow you to smell various cocoa varieties and learn about the crafting of chocolates and pralines.

One of the standout features of the exhibit is an impressive sculpture of the Statue of Liberty, entirely constructed from cocoa, a tribute to Auguste Bartholdi, the original statue's designer from Colmar.

Your experience wraps up with a delightful chocolate-tasting session after your visit to the museum.
