Tour of Concordia Sagittaria
Description
Embark on a captivating exploration of the Roman Empire's legacy in the Veneto area with this guided tour of Concordia Sagittaria. Are you prepared for an intriguing historical adventure?
Tour Overview
At the agreed hour, our meeting point is set at Loggia Comunale, where we will kick off this guided tour of Concordia Sagittaria. Prepare yourself for an engaging journey!
Once everyone is assembled, we will stroll through the town's streets as we delve into the fascinating history and unique features of ancient Iulia Concordia. Did you know that it was established by the Romans in 42 BC? The strategic intersection of Via Annia and Via Postumia was chosen wisely, as it was home to a significant river port on the Lemene River.
As we continue our tour, we will uncover remnants of Roman residences, thermal baths, and the historical routes that connected the region. In addition, medieval structures and monuments that have been meticulously preserved will come into view, including the remarkable cathedral of Saint Stephen Protomartyr and the baptistery.
This immersive journey into history will conclude as we wrap up our guided visit of Concordia Sagittaria after approximately thirty minutes.
