Lobos Island Hike
Description
Situated between Fuerteventura and Lanzarote, Lobos Island boasts pristine landscapes waiting to be explored. Embark on a hiking adventure across this captivating isle.
Lobos Island Hike
Every year, countless visitors flock to the stunning Canary Islands. Yet, the lesser-known uninhabited islets often remain overlooked. Don’t miss the chance to explore one of these gems; meet us at the port of Corralejo at the designated time.
From there, we will board a ferry that transports us to the shores of Lobos Island in a brief 20-minute voyage. This small landmass, which lies in the strait of La Bocayna—the waterway separating Fuerteventura from Lanzarote—features breathtaking natural vistas.
Upon reaching the island, our first stop will be the Visitor Centre, where we can collect walking poles to aid our journey. With our gear ready, we will embark on a guided hiking trail around Lobos Island. Our destination will be La Concha, an exquisite white sandy beach, where we can admire the crescent-shaped bay and the nearby Roman archaeological site, a remnant of an ancient settlement famed for its production of purple dye.
Continuing on foot towards volcano La Caldera, we will pass the Salinas de Marrajo before ascending to a height of 127 metres. Be prepared to capture stunning panoramic views of the entire islet and the adjacent Corralejo Dunes.
Next, we will descend to the Martiño Lighthouse and explore Las Lagunitas, a vast area characterized by volcanic rocks and unique reddish vegetation. Keep your cameras handy! Our journey will lead us to El Puertito, a delightful locale adorned with blue and white fishing cottages, where we will enjoy a well-earned paella lunch complemented by a refreshing drink. A true treat!
In conclusion, we will return to Fuerteventura and conclude our excursion back at the starting point, approximately 6 to 7 hours later.
