Description

Choquequirao Trek
Day 1: Cusco – Cachora – Chiquisca
Starting the adventure with a pickup from your hotel in Cusco between 4:00 and 4:30 am, we will travel towards San Pedro de Cachora, the starting point of our trekking journey. This initial hike will take around 3 hours, leading us to the Capulliyoq viewpoint, a remarkable location to take in sweeping views of the Apurimac River and the distant ruins of Choquequirao.
Following our time at the viewpoint, we will descend via a winding path to Chiquisca, where we will relax and enjoy our lunch and dinner before winding down for the evening.
Day 2: Chiquisca – Santa Rosa – Marampata – Choquequirao
After breakfast in Chiquisca, we will embark on our second day of trekking. This segment will last about 5 hours, during which we will pause for lunch in Santa Rosa and take a break in Marampata to relish the stunning vistas from its renowned panoramic viewpoint.
Overnight accommodations will be arranged in a hostel in Marampata.
Day 3: Choquequirao
After breakfast at Marampata, we will embark on a 90-minute walk to the famed ruins of Choquequirao. Often referred to as the "little sister of Machu Picchu", this archaeological site yields remnants of temples, storage structures, and communal areas, providing valuable insights into the pre-Columbian history of Latin America.
In the afternoon, we will retrace our steps back to Marampata for dinner and rest until the following day.
Day 4: Choquequirao – Playa Rosalina – Capulliyoq – Cusco
After a wholesome breakfast, we will make our way back to Capulliyoq, stopping at Playa Rosalina along the way. Continuing towards Chikiska for lunch, we will then travel through the scenic Apurimac valley to Capulliyoq, where our transportation will be waiting to take us back to Cusco.
