Trip to La Paz & Salar de Uyuni

Embark on an unforgettable  three-day journey from Cusco to the stunning Salar de Uyuni, renowned for its breathtaking natural beauty, alongside visits to La Paz and El Alto.

Tour Overview

Day 1: Overnight Bus Journey from Cusco to Puno

At the arranged time, our team will meet you at your accommodation in Cusco and accompany you to the bus terminal. Here, you will board a night bus to Puno, which is situated alongside Lake Titicaca. The journey lasts approximately 7 hours, featuring comfortable reclining seats for a restful trip.

Day 2: Puno – La Paz – Uyuni

Upon arrival in Puno in the early morning, you will have a few hours to replenish yourself, enjoy breakfast at the terminal's café, or take advantage of the available bathrooms and showers. Subsequently, you will board a sightseeing bus for an 8-hour trip to La Paz.

In La Paz, the afternoon is yours to wander around the Bolivian capital and El Alto, immersing yourself in the rich culture and vibrant local atmosphere. Later that evening, we will board a sleeper bus with seats that recline to an angle of 160°, taking us to Uyuni for the next 10 hours.

Day 3: Exploration of Salar de Uyuni

Upon reaching Uyuni in the morning, you will be taken to a café where you can enjoy breakfast and utilize the restrooms and showers. Should you require accommodations until the tour commences, we can suggest nearby hostels.

After a brief period of rest, we’ll pick you up to explore the Train Cemetery, dedicating about 1.5 hours to discovering this unique site. We will then proceed to the village of Colchani, the gateway to the enchanting Salar de Uyuni. Along this route, you could observe local artisanal workshops and a rustic salt processing facility.

As we continue, we will encounter the intriguing Ojos del Salar and the Hotel Sal de Playa Blanca, a unique museum. Our journey will then lead us to Isla Incahuasi, where you can marvel at marine rock fossils and impressive giant cacti.

As the day concludes, prepare to witness a breathtaking sunset across the salt flats. We will then head back to Uyuni, concluding our tour at the bus station or your preferred drop-off point, after a delightful 9-hour exploration of this extraordinary landscape.

Essential Information

This tour offers a pickup service from the historic center of Cusco. For those whose accommodations are outside this range, we can meet you at the Terminal Terrestre Cusco, located at Avenida de la Vía de Evitamiento, 429.

Keep in mind that the bus from Cusco to Puno departs at 10 PM. At the end of the tour, we suggest either spending the night in Uyuni or arranging for a return bus to Cusco that leaves post 8 PM.
