Flying Picnic on Piuray Lagoon

Imagine savoring a gourmet meal amidst the breathtaking Andes landscapes. This unique flying picnic above Piuray Lagoon offers a thrilling dining experience at a height of 80 meters (262 feet). For the adventurous, there is an option to ride in the sky on a skybike. An experience to cherish!

Overview of the Activity

At the scheduled time, you will be collected from your accommodation in Cusco. A scenic 45-minute drive will lead us to the community of Pogobamba located in the Chinchero district.

Upon arrival, a brief safety briefing will be conducted, and we will equip you with everything needed for the adventure. Next, we will proceed to the Pongobamba viewpoint, where stunning vistas of the Piuray Lagoon and the majestic peaks of the Vilcabamba mountain range await your gaze.

Your flying picnic experience will begin with you seated at a table suspended by 400-meter-long (1312 feet) steel cables. Soaring 80 meters (262 feet) above, you will enjoy 45 minutes of a delightful picnic featuring a choice of red, rosé, or white wine, alongside nuts, assorted fruits, and traditional empanadas made with ají de gallina (spicy chicken stew), fried beef, or ham and cheese. Picture enjoying these wonderful flavors amidst such a stunning backdrop!

Following this exhilarating experience, we will head toward Piuray Lagoon. Here, you’ll have time to unwind and observe various local wildlife, including native bird species. This tranquil setting allows for a wonderful connection with the serene Andes and insight into its diverse ecosystem.

Finally, we will make our way back to Cusco, where we will conclude our journey in either Plaza de Armas or Plaza Regocijo, based on your preference, after a total of 5 hours spent together.

Flying Picnic + Skybike Experience

When reserving your spot, you may choose the option that includes a 5-minute ride on a skybike, a bicycle in mid-air.

We will adhere to the previously described itinerary, but once the picnic is wrapped up, you will transition to the skybike activity. You will mount a specially designed bike secured to steel cables, set to traverse 800 meters round trip, delivering breathtaking views from an exhilarating height.

Subsequently, we will follow up with a visit to Piuray Lagoon before returning to Cusco, concluding at either Plaza de Armas or Plaza Regocijo.
