4-Day Journey through Cusco, Laguna Humantay & Machu Picchu

Day 1: Arrival in Cusco

Upon arriving at the Cusco airport, a representative will be on hand to escort you to the hotel, where you'll be based for this 4-day excursion. After settling into your accommodation, take some time to rest before joining a guided tour of Cusco scheduled for 1 PM. During this excursion, you'll explore key archaeological sites within the ancient Inca capital.

The tour includes a visit to the bustling Plaza de Armas, the impressive cathedral, and the Church of Santo Domingo. You'll also have the opportunity to see Coricancha, known as the Temple of the Sun, along with the archaeological remnants of Sacsayhuamán, Qenqo, Puka Pukara, and Tambomachay, which are situated just outside the historic centre of Cusco.

Day 2: Humantay Lake

The adventure starts early with a pick-up from your hotel, followed by a drive to the town of Mollepata, where a hearty breakfast awaits. Refreshed, we'll continue our journey to Soraypampa, where we embark on an exhilarating 1.5-hour hike to Laguna Humantay, a breathtaking body of water soaring over 13,000 feet in the Andean mountains.

This magnificent glacial lake boasts striking turquoise waters and stands as one of Peru's premier attractions. Upon arrival, enjoy leisure time to explore the area and capture the scenic beauty before we retrace our steps back to Mollepata for a well-deserved lunch.

We'll then continue our return to Cusco, expecting to arrive around 7 PM.

Day 3: Visit to Machu Picchu

On day three, around 4 AM, our team will pick you up from the hotel for an hour-and-a-half bus ride to Ollantaytambo. Following our arrival, you'll board a train that traverses the stunning Andean foothills en route to Aguas Calientes.

From Aguas Calientes, a bus will take us to one of the world’s greatest wonders: Machu Picchu. Here, you'll join a guided exploration of this iconic Inca citadel, uncovering its rich history and enthralling legends, while also learning why it captures the imagination of countless visitors.

Your tour will include highlights such as the main square, the remarkable circular tower, the sacred sundial, royal quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows, and the ancient cemeteries.

After an exhilarating day of discovery at the "lost city", we will return to Aguas Calientes, allowing a brief period for lunch before taking the train back to Ollantaytambo, followed by a bus journey back to Cusco.

Day 4: Departure from Cusco

Your final day provides some leisure time for breakfast at the hotel in Cusco. Once you are ready, we’ll arrange your transfer to the airport.

In case the tour is interrupted due to strikes or adverse weather conditions, an alternative date will be provided to complete it. Should rescheduling not be feasible, a full refund will be issued, excluding the entrance fees to Machu Picchu (approximately 200 PEN), which are non-refundable.
