Itinerary for the Machu Picchu 2-Day Tour
Day 1: Journey from Cusco to Aguas Calientes
Kick off your adventure with a pick-up from your hotel in Cusco at your preferred time. We'll embark on a scenic two-hour bus trip to Ollantaytambo. Upon arrival in this charming mountain town, you’ll board the train for a 1.5-hour ride amid breathtaking scenery, characterized by towering peaks, verdant hills, and flowing rivers.
Reaching Aguas Calientes, we'll assist you in checking into your hotel for the night. Afterward, you have the remainder of the day to explore the town at your own pace.
Day 2: Machu Picchu to Cusco
Post breakfast at your hotel, we will head out on a bus, setting our sights on the highlight of your trip: Machu Picchu. Prepare to uncover the secrets of this historic Inca stronghold.
Upon reaching the astonishing ruins perched on the hilltop, join us for a 2.5-hour guided tour, where you'll stroll through the ancient streets and marvel at the structures that form one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World.
Afterward, we’ll take the bus back to Aguas Calientes, giving you some time to enjoy lunch and explore more of the town before boarding the train back to Ollantaytambo. Complete the day with a bus ride back to Cusco, where you will be dropped off at your hotel, reflecting on the two remarkable days spent exploring.
Accommodation Options
When booking, you may select from two accommodation categories:
Standard Accommodation
Enjoy one night with breakfast in a two-star establishment such as the Hotel Rock Rivers or similar options.
Superior Accommodation
Opt for a night with breakfast at a three-star hotel like the Hotel Hantun Inti Classic del Inca or equivalent.
**Note: Indicate your desired room occupancy at booking—single, double, or triple—keeping in mind that additional charges may apply based on room type.
Train Types
Your journey to Machu Picchu is aboard panoramic trains equipped with expansive windows and a glass ceiling, offering a unique travel experience that feels almost like flying. There are two travel classes available: tourist class (Expedition or Voyager train) and first class (Vistadome or The 360º train).
Pickup Information
The tour includes pick-up service from hotels located in the historic area of Cusco. If you are lodging outside of this central district, we will meet you at the Cathedral's entrance in Plaza de Armas. Pickup confirmation will be provided several days prior to the activity.
Important Additional Information
Should the tour be canceled due to strikes or adverse weather conditions, you will be offered an alternative date for the experience. If rescheduling is not feasible, a full refund will be issued, excluding the entrance fees to Machu Picchu (approximately 200 PEN), which are non-refundable.
Due to high demand, tickets for Machu Picchu may occasionally sell out. If that happens, alternative routes will be proposed. Below are some links to maps depicting available routes:

Entrance to Huayna Picchu
Entrance to Huayna Picchu mountain is not part of the tour package. If you wish to visit it on the activity's day, please inform us when you book. The cost will be 65 USD per person. Remember that trekking the mountain does not include a guide.
Entrance to Machu Picchu Mountain
The admission to Machu Picchu is likewise not covered in the tour price. If you wish to include this during your activity, kindly indicate this in your reservation. The price is also 65 USD per person, and note that this trek does not come with a guided service.
2-Day Tour Without Tickets
Should the tour be full on your chosen dates, or if you prefer to explore the sites independently, consider booking a 2-day Machu Picchu tour without entrance tickets. The itinerary remains unchanged, including transport, guiding services, and accommodation.
Last-Minute Day Trip
If you're struggling to find availability for your desired dates, you can also consider booking a last-minute 2 or 3-day journey to Machu Picchu.

Important information
The local tour company will get in touch with you a couple of days before the tour begins to establish the exact pickup time. If your hotel is not located in the historic center of Cusco, we'll meet you at the entrance of the Cathedral, in front of the Plaza de Armas.
Access to the Machu Picchu and Huayna Picchu mountains is subject to availability.

If the tour cannot be rescheduled, please note that you'll be refunded the full amount of the activity, except for the entrance fee to Machu Picchu, which is non-refundable.
