Immerse yourself in the world of music for a day with the unique Panpipe Experience in Cusco. This engaging activity allows you to craft the traditional Peruvian panpipe and join a skilled musician to explore the rich musical heritage of the region.

Itinerary

At the scheduled time, our team will collect you from your accommodation and escort you to the San Blas district, a vibrant area in Cusco. Upon arrival, you will be invited into the home of a local musician who will share insights about the cultural traditions of San Blas.

This journey will guide you through the historical progression of music in Cusco, showcasing various instruments along the way. You will encounter the quena and the pututu, instruments that precede the Incan civilization, the charango from the colonial era, and the cajón, rooted in Afro-Peruvian heritage. A demonstration will allow you to experience the distinct sounds produced by each instrument.

Next, we will head to a craft workshop, where you will have the opportunity to create your own panpipe, also known as zampoña in Spanish. This iconic wind instrument made from reeds resembles a flute.

Guided by the musician, you will learn how to assemble the pre-tuned, varying-length tubes to craft a personalized panpipe. You will even have the chance to perform a simple melody on your own!

After the workshop concludes, you can proudly take your panpipes as a memorable keepsake. Should you wish, you may even join the professional musician in playing together!

After spending approximately 2 hours immersed in the art of panpipe making, we will return you to your hotel in Cusco.
