Your adventure begins at 8 am when we collect you from your hotel and set off from Cusco, navigating through stunning mountainous landscapes toward Paruro province. Along the route, you will pass through charming towns like Yaurisque, where you can admire the ancient Church of San Esteban, constructed from stones predating the Inca period.

Our first destination is the archaeological site of Puma Orqo. Here, we will delve into the myths surrounding the emergence of the Inca culture, drawing from Andean legends chronicled by figures such as Juan de Betanzos and Cristobal de Molina.

As we wander through the Inca ruins, we will also visit the Tamputoqo caves. Translated from Quechua, their name means "place of the dawn or origin." This leads to discussions about their connection to the legends of this ancient civilization.

Next, we'll embark on a 3-mile (5-kilometer) trek along the Yaurisque River heading towards Maukallaqta. This archaeological area is distinguished by over 200 stone structures. Experts suggest that it may have once been the site of a grand oracle, with walls adorned in gold.

As we explore, you will encounter ceremonial fountains, alcoves, and various sacred structures that underscore Maukallaqta's historical and spiritual significance, which was tragically lost due to the Spanish conquistadors. We will pause for lunch on our return trip to Cusco, aiming to arrive by 4 pm when we will drop you off at your hotel and conclude our journey.
