Picture yourself navigating a quad bike through the Sacred Valley of the Incas. In this adventure, we will discover the Maras salt mines, allowing you to opt for a visit to either the terraces of Moray or the enchanting Huaypo lagoon. Prepare for a thrilling journey!

Options for the Tour

During the booking process, select from the following options. Both choices include hotel pickup from Cusco at your preferred time, followed by a drop-off at Plaza de Armas. Each tour stretches over a duration of 6 hours.

Moray & Maras Salt Mines Adventure

Are you ready for an exciting ride? We’ll start our journey by minibus to the community of Cruz Pata, nestled in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Upon arrival, we’ll gear up on the quad bikes, where a short briefing on essential safety protocols will be provided.

The adventure begins as we head towards the Inca site of Moray, where we'll be captivated by the intricate terraces showcasing the brilliance of this ancient civilization. Continuing onward, we’ll arrive at the Maras salt mines, offering stunning vistas of the Urubamba mountain range alongside the snow-capped peaks of Verónica and Chicón.

Prepare to appreciate a distinctive landscape featuring circular pools each measuring 5 m (16.4 ft) in diameter, meticulously carved into the mountainside.

Huaypo Lagoon & Maras Salt Mines Adventure

Choosing this option, our first destination will be Huaypo Lagoon, a picturesque natural area situated within the Sacred Valley of the Incas. While riding the quad bikes along its banks, we will take in the local flora and fauna, sharing intriguing tales and legends of this mystical place. Is it possible that UFOs have truly landed here?

Our quad bike excursion continues as we proceed to the renowned Maras salt mines, where remarkable views of the Vilcanota River await us before we head back to Cusco.

Pickup Locations for the Tour

The tour includes pick up from hotels within the historic center of Cusco. If your accommodation is located outside this area, please arrange your own transport to the designated meeting point at Plaza Regocijo.

Important information

At the indicated time, we’ll pick you up from your hotel in Cusco. We recommend being in the hotel reception 10 minutes before the scheduled time to avoid delays during the tour.

Please note that this activity only includes pickup from accommodations located in Cusco’s historic center. If you’re staying outside this area, we’ll meet at Plaza Regocijo.

Important Info

We recommend wearing comfortable shoes, long pants, sunglasses, sunscreen, and a raincoat.

Admissions Not Included

Please note that admission to Moray and the Maras salt mines isn’t included in the activity price. You’ll need to pay for these tickets on the day of the tour in cash using Peruvian soles or purchase the Cusco Tourist Ticket in advance: https://www.civitatis.com/en/cusco/cusco-tourist-ticket/.

If you choose the Huaypo Lagoon & Maras Salt Mines Tour, you’ll only need to pay the admission to Maras (10PEN per person).
