Your adventure commences with a pickup from your hotel at the scheduled time, setting the stage for a comprehensive exploration of some of the most captivating historical and cultural landmarks in the Cusco area: Raqchi, Tinta, and the San Lorenzo de Valleumbroso Hacienda. Are you ready for this exciting day? Let’s begin!

Our first destination will be San Pedro de Cacha, perched on the shores of the Vilcanota River. Here, we will delve into the archaeological site of Raqchi, an awe-inspiring location that once served as the capital of the Kanchis nation.

Situated at the base of the ancient Quinsachata volcano, we will investigate the Temple of Wiracocha, dedicated to one of the revered deities of the Inca culture. Additionally, we will uncover colcas (storage facilities) and royal tambos, their histories shrouded in intrigue and folklore.

Next, we journey to Tinta, a town notable for its crucial contribution to Peru's struggle for independence. This was where the uprising led by Tupac Amaru II took place, marking the largest indigenous revolt against the Spanish Viceroyalty. You’ll gain insights into his influence and visit essential sites related to the revolution, including his house-museum.

Our exploration in Tinta continues with a visit to its 17th-century church, adorned with a striking golden altar and remarkable colonial artworks created by celebrated artists like Diego de la Puente, Francisco Serrano, and Marcos Rivera. After this cultural stop, you will have leisure time for lunch at a local eatery, allowing you to savor the flavors of the region.

We will later proceed to the colonial bridge of Tinta, an elegant structure featuring semi-circular arches that was constructed in 1740. Once across this historic viaduct, we’ll continue our journey to the impressive Hacienda of San Lorenzo de Valleumbroso.

This stunning colonial estate, constructed on Inca foundations, was once owned by the Spanish explorer Rodrigo de Esquivel, whose heirs were granted the noble title of Marquis of San Lorenzo de Valleumbroso.

We’ll navigate through the estate’s arcaded patios, refined halls, and spacious courtyards, all offering panoramic views of the Cusco Valley. Recognized as a Cultural Heritage Site of Peru in 1991, the hacienda is currently under restoration by the National Institute of Culture.

After this engaging day filled with history and culture, we will return to your hotel, concluding our journey approximately 10 hours later.
