For those visiting Cusco and desiring to explore one of the New Seven Wonders of the Modern World, a journey by train to Machu Picchu offers an unforgettable adventure through the magnificent Andes.
Activity Details
During the reservation process, you will have the opportunity to select the train option to Machu Picchu. The duration of the train journey is about 3 hours and 15 minutes.
Expedition Train
Choosing the Expedition train means you'll be traveling through Aguas Calientes along one of the most stunning railway paths globally. Enjoy the captivating landscapes as you ride, taking in the remarkable sights visible through the large windows of the train.
The Expedition train departs from Poroy at 6:40 am and 8:25 am.
Vistadome Train
When you board the Vistadome train, you’ll experience a unique and enjoyable ride. With panoramic windows and ceilings in its carriages, you’ll feel completely immersed in the surrounding nature. As you soak in the breathtaking views, you’ll also hear recorded commentary highlighting the significant sites along the route to Machu Picchu.
The Vistadome train leaves from Poroy at 6:40 am.
Rainy Season
From January to April, the train service from Cusco operates less frequently. If you plan to participate in this excursion during these months, you can arrange your trip from Ollantaytambo by clicking here.
Limited Availability
This experience is offered on one of the most sought-after trains in Peru, resulting in limited ticket availability. It’s advisable to reserve your spots well in advance to secure your desired travel date.
Once your reservation is confirmed, you will receive the official tickets 48 hours prior to the train departure, which are necessary for boarding.

Please be informed that seating is allocated randomly. On the day of your journey, you may request a seat change from the train staff, subject to availability.

Accessibility
Only some areas are accessible. Accessible toilets. An accompanying person is required. This must be indicated in the reservation.
Important information
After making your reservation, we'll send you the official tickets that will grant you access to the trains no later than 48 hours before the train’s departure. On the day of the activity, you must present your tickets at the ticket windows at Poroy Station (Poroy Railway Station, 0860, Cusco, Peru).
Please arrive 15 to 20 minutes early.
