Description
Are you ready to journey to the core of the Inca Empire? This comprehensive day excursion from Cusco offers the chance to experience the breathtaking beauty of the Sacred Valley, unveiling the significance of this remarkable region, which was once the heart of an extraordinary civilization.
Day Trip Overview
Upon selecting your preferred pickup location during the reservation process, we'll embark on our adventure toward Chinchero, a charming village situated just 40 minutes away from Cusco. Here, you'll have the opportunity to appreciate the stunning 17th-century church, constructed on the foundations of ancient Inca ruins.
Next, we will visit Moray, a significant agricultural research site known for its remarkable circular terraces, where the Incas ingeniously cultivated different crops at varying altitudes.
Continuing on, our journey will take us to the renowned Salt Mines of Maras, a captivating landscape featuring over 3,000 salt pans that have been utilized since pre-Hispanic days. After uncovering the legends behind these mines, we'll head to Urubamba for a delightful buffet lunch showcasing traditional Andean dishes, including meat, chicken, fish, and a variety of soups.
Following lunch, we will explore Ollantaytambo, an ancient Inca town that has preserved its charming cobblestone streets and magnificent ceremonial temple. Our adventure will conclude at the archaeological site of Pisac, recognized for its remarkable agricultural terraces and stunning valley views.
As our 12.5-hour immersion in history comes to an end, we will bid farewell in the Plaza de Armas of Cusco.
