Nitmiluk National Park & Boat Cruise
Description
Experience the stunning natural beauty surrounding Darwin through a guided tour of Nitmiluk National Park accompanied by a picturesque boat cruise. Revel in the breathtaking sights of Edith Falls and Katherine Gorge.
Nitmiluk National Park & Boat Cruise
Your adventure begins with your pickup from a designated meeting point in Darwin, followed by a journey to the Nitmiluk National Park, located approximately 250 kilometers (155 miles) from the city. Our route via Stuart Highway, renowned across Australia, offers picturesque views of the Northern Territory's remarkable scenery.
During our voyage, we’ll take a break at the Adelaide River War Cemetery, a site honoring those who lost their lives in the region during the Second World War. After paying our respects, we’ll proceed toward the park.
Upon entering, prepare to be captivated by the rugged terrains, initiating our exploration at Katherine River Gorge and Edith Falls. We will make a stop to absorb the magnificent waterfall views while learning about the rich stories of the Jawoyn people, the traditional custodians of this land.
After enjoying a delightful outdoor buffet meal, we’ll delve deeper into Nitmiluk National Park, visiting the Visitor Centre to view captivating photographs, Aboriginal artefacts, and informative videos that enrich our understanding of the area.
The highlight of our tour will be a serene boat cruise along Katherine Gorge. Over two hours, you will witness the striking contrasts of the Nitmiluk landscape alongside a variety of wildlife, including crocodiles and vibrant bird species.
Following a memorable 14-hour journey exploring this enchanting part of Northern Australia, we will return to Darwin.
