Nitmiluk National Park & Boat Cruise
The adventure begins as we pick you up from your chosen meeting point in Darwin at the specified time, embarking on a trip towards Nitmiluk National Park, located approximately 250 kilometers (155 miles) away. The bus will traverse the renowned Stuart Highway, affording us remarkable views of the Northern Territory.
Midway through our route, we will pause at the Adelaide River War Cemetery, a tribute to those who lost their lives in the Northern Territory during the Second World War. Following this enriching stop, we will proceed to Nitmiluk Park.
Upon arrival, we will delve into the park's rugged terrain, starting our exploration at the Katherine River Gorge and Edith Falls. Here, we will take a moment to appreciate the waterfalls’ beauty while learning about the stories and traditions of the Jawoyn people, who hold stewardship over this land.
After indulging in a delightful outdoor buffet, our exploration of Nitmiluk National Park will continue with a visit to the Visitor Centre, where we can view photographs, Aboriginal artefacts, and informative videos.
The tour’s highlight will be an exhilarating boat cruise along Katherine Gorge. For two hours, you will be captivated by the striking contrasts within the Nitmiluk landscape, with opportunities to spot crocodiles and a variety of bird species.
After a full day of adventure spanning 14 hours, we will make our way back to Darwin, enriched by the experiences and sights of Northern Australia.
