Description
Discover the enchanting landscapes of legendary Transylvania during this immersive two-day guided experience, exploring Romania's iconic sights, beginning from Bucharest.
Transylvania 2-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Bucharest - Sinaia - Bran - Brasov
Your adventure begins with an early morning pick-up from your accommodation in Bucharest, as you depart the Romanian capital and head firmly north into the heart of Transylvania: transitioning from the "Paris of the East" to the fantastical "Land Beyond the Forest."
After a scenic bus journey lasting approximately two and a half hours, your first destination is the quaint town and mountain resort of Sinaia, home to the illustrious Peles Castle, crafted between 1873 and 1914.
This stunning architectural gem was originally constructed as the summer retreat for the Romanian royal family, and today it operates as a museum where you can delve into one of the nation's most significant historical treasures.
Your exploration continues as you navigate through one of Europe’s most enigmatic locations, arriving at the renowned Bran Castle, famously linked to Count Dracula. If you're feeling curious, fear not; you'll embark on a guided exploration of this legendary fortress and uncover the tales that inspired Bram Stoker in penning his celebrated Gothic narrative.
Take a moment to enjoy lunch on your own before heading toward Brasov, where you will wander through the historic center and appreciate its significant attractions. The Black Church emerges as a defining feature of the city and represents the finest example of Gothic architecture in Romania. Curious about its intriguing name? This will be revealed during your visit!
Conclude your first day by settling in for the night in Brasov.
Day 2: Brasov - Sighisoara - Rupea - Bucharest
After breakfast, we will depart from the hotel to board a bus that will journey to Sighisoara, recognized as the homeland of Dracula. As we stroll through its colorful streets adorned with traditional houses, we will uncover stories about the lives of Bram Stoker and Count Dracula.
Next, our travels will lead us to the Rupea Citadel, one of Transylvania’s most noted fortifications. Here, you will learn about the various sieges this fortress endured to protect its inhabitants, along with enjoying breathtaking panoramic views from its hilltop perch.
The following stop will vary depending on the season. From November to May, we will head to Prejmer, home to a magnificent church, classified as a World Heritage Site, whose impressive exterior is bound to leave you in awe.
For those joining from June to October, the journey will take us along the Transf?g?r??an, touted as Romania's most serpentine road, and one of the most visually captivating in the world!
Your tour will conclude as we return to Bucharest, wrapping up our two-day journey upon arrival in the capital.
