Argentina Independence Tour
Your adventure begins with a pickup at 8:30 from your hotel in Tucumán. Our first destination will be the Miguel Lillo Natural Science Museum (entry fee not included), where you’ll gain insights into the rich natural diversity and geography of the province of Tucumán. This exhibition features remarkable dinosaur fossils found in the area, along with a showcase of native Argentine fauna that has since moved to various parts of the globe.
The guided itinerary proceeds to the historical Casa Belgraniana, the residence of General Manuel Belgrano. Within this refined structure, discover key details about the battle of Tucumán, where General Belgrano played a pivotal role—an event that significantly influenced Argentina’s War of Independence. You will learn about the political transformations sparked by this conflict.
After our exploration of Belgraniana House and its notable figure, we will travel to Ingenio San Pablo to delve into its sugar production heritage, and from there, proceed to Villa Nougués and San Javier Hill. At the summit, marvel at the impressive sculpture of the Cristo Bendicente and enjoy breathtaking views of San Miguel de Tucumán.
Continuing through the Yerba Buena residential zone, we will return to central Tucumán where you can savor delicious local empanadas paired with a glass of wine. Before heading back, the route includes a scenic drive through Yerba Buena and a visit to 9 July Park along with the Casa Obispo Colombres Sugar Industry Museum.
The tour concludes at the splendid Plaza de la Independencia, where you will enjoy a walking exploration to appreciate the remarkable architectural heritage that envelops the area: the Government House, the Cathedral, and the iconic Casa Histórica (Historical House), the site of Argentina's declaration of independence on July 9, 1816.
We will return to your hotel by 3:30 pm.
