Bicycle Tour of San José

Join us on this cycling excursion in San José, where we'll explore the city’s most charming locations while savoring delicious empanadas and enjoying a cup of coffee during our journey. It’s time to ride!

Tour Overview

Gathering at the specified location in front of the National Theatre, we will set off on a two-wheeled exploration through the capital of Costa Rica, unveiling some of the city's iconic sites. Let’s get rolling!

After a friendly greeting, you will receive your bicycle and helmet before we glide down one of the major thoroughfares in the historical district. We will navigate Calle 5, intersecting with Avenues 2, 0, 5, and 7, while passing by Parque Morazán. The biking adventure will take us through the Amón, Otoya, and Aranjuez neighborhoods. We’ll also pass through Parque España, where we can marvel at the Knöhr Hoffman House as well as the Calderón Guardia Hospital.

As we pedal away, you’re bound to feel hungry. It’s the perfect moment to stop by El Frontón, a local eatery fondly known as 'sodas' by residents, offering homestyle cuisine. Situated opposite the Plaza de las Garantías Sociales, this venue is renowned for its exceptional Costa Rican empanadas. To prove it, we’ll savor this delightful dish. What a satisfying treat!

After our meal, we’ll hop back on our bikes to pursue a stop at Cafeoteca or Modo Café, depending on the day. Here, we’ll indulge in a coffee tasting, allowing us to appreciate one of the finest beverages in Central America. You’ll witness the local brewing methods for this iconic Costa Rican drink. Quite the experience!

We will conclude our journey back at our starting point, where we'll part ways after approximately 3.5 hours together. Until next time!
