Tour Options
Upon booking, you'll have the chance to select from several tour options. All tours originate and conclude at Shanghai Fuxing Senior High School and include bike rental, helmets, and an English-speaking guide.
Here are the specifics of each option:
4-Hour Day Tour
Once we’re equipped with our bikes, our journey begins as we traverse the charming alleys of Shanghai, revealing a fascinating juxtaposition of the old and the new. We’ll admire the Shikumen architectural style, a unique fusion of traditional Chinese aesthetics with European influences. Our route will bring us past revered historic structures that are now home to shops, cafés, and restaurants.
Following this portion of our excursion, we’ll pause for a snack. Our next stop will be Lu Xun Park located in the Hongkou district, where locals can often be seen flying kites or enjoying leisurely picnics.
Subsequently, we’ll pedal towards Yu Garden, a peaceful retreat established during the Ming Dynasty and adjacent to the City God Temple—it stands as one of the oldest gardens in Shanghai.
4-Hour Night Tour
With this option, as the sunset paints the sky, we begin our ride toward the historic Shanghai French Concession. Entering this picturesque neighborhood, we’ll observe its 19th-century French influences, cycling by art deco buildings and elegant villas nestled among lush trees.
Our next destination will be Xintiandi, a dynamic district at the heart of the city. Here, we’ll appreciate the distinctive Shikumen architecture, featuring revitalized structures housing restaurants, bookstores, townhouses, and cafés. We’ll take a moment to enjoy a post-ride snack.
We will then proceed to Nanjing Street—recognized as the busiest shopping street globally. As we immerse ourselves in its lively atmosphere, we’ll marvel at bright neon lights illuminating an array of shops and buildings. Our journey will conclude with a ride along the Bund, where we’ll relish spectacular views of Shanghai’s skyline before arriving at People's Square.
8-Hour Tour
For those eager to delve deeper into the lively streets of Shanghai, this extensive tour is ideal. We begin at the Bund, taking in panoramic views of the Huangpu River alongside impressive skyscrapers. Next, we’ll navigate to People’s Square, where history seamlessly blends with modernity.
Our exploration continues to Duolon Road, celebrated for its Republican-era architecture and notable literary residents. We’ll cycle through the scenic French Concession, known for its tree-lined avenues and charming buildings. Before reaching the Japanese Concession, we’ll pass through Lu Xun Park once again.
Feeling hungry? We’ll take a delightful lunch break in one of the city's most picturesque locations. After a refreshing meal, we’ll resume our adventure, leading us to an antiques market where you can discover unique local artifacts.
Our route will then take us to the bustling Nanjing Street as we approach the Hongkou Football Stadium, making sure we capture every bit of Shanghai's allure, including a visit to Xintiandi.
We’ll also pass by the Shanghai Postal Museum and the historic Waibaidu Bridge, often known as the Garden Bridge. Finally, we will conclude our tour at the notable Site of the First National Congress of the Chinese Communist Party, a significant landmark in China's modern history.
