Tour Overview
Commencing at 108 NW Street, we’ll set off on our bicycles, ready to experience Edmonton from a refreshing vantage point. Let’s begin our adventure!
Our first stop will be the renowned Alberta Legislature Building, a symbol of the province's heritage. While strolling through its lush gardens, we will delve into the city’s foundation and discuss the exquisite Beaux-Arts design of this distinguished structure.
Next, we’ll glide along the banks of the North Saskatchewan River, traversing the largest urban river valley in North America. Here, you’ll discover the significance of this river as a vital route for trade among Indigenous peoples and European settlers alike.
We’ll then arrive at the esteemed University of Alberta, celebrated for its rich academic contributions and diverse architecture. Our journey will lead us to Old Strathcona, characterized as the city's creative hub, where we’ll reflect on the railway expansion and the area's unique history.
Our route will also include a visit to the Mill Creek Ravine Park, a green expanse that weaves through the city, exemplifying eco-friendly urban planning.
As we head back downtown, we’ll pause to marvel at the striking glass pyramids of the Muttart Conservatory, a notable architectural piece from the 1970s. Following this, we’ll make our way to the Chinese Garden, a site that encapsulates the cultural essence of Edmonton’s Chinese community.
Our exploration will conclude at Sir Winston Churchill Square, the vibrant heart of Edmonton, surrounded by cultural institutions and lively public art displays.
