Blue Lake Grotto Guided Tour
Description
Embark on an exploration of the Blue Lake Grotto, a captivating natural wonder in Bonito. This guided tour offers a unique opportunity to witness an underground spring located within this stunning cave, recognized as a National Heritage Site.
Guided Tour of the Blue Lake Grotto
At the designated meeting time, our journey into nature will commence. A stroll along a winding trail will lead us through the lush Cerrado biome until we arrive at the entrance of the Blue Lake Grotto.
Prior to entering the cave, each participant will be fitted with required safety helmets. We will then navigate down around 300 rock-hewn steps. As we descend, the awe-inspiring sight of numerous stalactites, stalagmites, and other geological formations—formed over millennia—will unfold around us.
Reaching the cavern's base, the name of the grotto will be clearly revealed by its enchanting spring, whose waters display a striking vibrant indigo hue. This scenic location, acknowledged as a National Historic and Artistic Heritage Site of Brazil, invites you to capture its beauty in photographs and soak in the serene atmosphere.
After an informative 1-hour and 20-minute exploration within the cave, we will begin our ascent back to the original meeting point.
