About the Canfranc Express

The Canfranc Express offers a captivating railway experience amidst the stunning landscapes of Huesca province's Aragonese Pyrenees.

This delightful vintage train, which has undergone recent restoration, has earned the status of Historic Railway Heritage. The train features a 1950s Series 315 locomotive, complemented by carriages dating back to the 1930s, along with a dedicated bicycle carriage.

Embarking on this journey transports you back in time as you traverse the enchanting valley of the Aragón River.

The Train Journey

At the scheduled departure time, we will embark on the Canfranc Express from the Jaca Train Station.

Over the course of a 30-minute ride, immerse yourself in the breathtaking vistas of the Aragonese Pyrenees, showcasing stunning forests and majestic mountains.

During the journey, the train will pause in Castiello de Jaca and Villanúa before proceeding towards Canfranc, where its railway terminal is regarded as one of the most picturesque train stations in Spain.

Although the old station is no longer operational, it has been refurbished into a 5-star hotel, retaining the charm of its historical era. Its strategic location near France made it particularly significant during the Second World War.

Upon arrival at this remarkable destination, you will have 5 hours of leisure time. We suggest you make the most of your visit by exploring the surroundings and savoring exquisite local cuisine.

Ultimately, you will board the train for your return trip to Jaca at the arranged time.
