Cape Raoul Boat Ride
Description
Description
Embarking on a boat trip to Cape Raoul offers a remarkable opportunity to witness the breathtaking coastline of the Tasman Peninsula. As you journey, you will encounter stunning cliffs, enchanting caves, pristine white sand beaches, and an array of fascinating wildlife.
Itinerary
Our adventure commences at the designated time at the Port Arthur Historic Site, where we will board our vessel and prepare to explore the striking scenery that surrounds the Tasman Peninsula. The initial leg of our journey takes us through the waters of the Tasman Sea, revealing iconic cliffs and geological formations that characterize this unique area. Did you know that the cliffs at Cape Raoul soar to a height of over 820 feet (250 meters) and boast an age of 170 million years? Quite impressive!
As we navigate along the coast, noteworthy locations come into view, such as Point Puer and the Isle of the Dead, both rich in history. We will also arrive at the tranquil white sands of Safety Cove Beach and the secluded dunes of Crescent Bay, hidden among the rocky shoreline. From our boat, we can appreciate the incredible views of Cape Pillar, the Tasmanian island, and Arthur Head, all of which showcase breathtaking vistas of the coastline.
The majestic Mount Brown will stand tall in the background, enhancing the allure of the scenery as we approach Cape Raoul.
Throughout our voyage, keep an eye out for the local wildlife! You might catch a glimpse of playful dolphins, impressive whales, or even friendly Australian sea lions lounging beneath the dolerite columns. Don’t forget to look up, as sea eagles, albatrosses, and various coastal birds often soar above!
After an exhilarating 1.5-hour cruise, we will return to our starting point, wrapping up this unforgettable maritime journey.
